Vitametik For Horses
The one treating a horse with understanding...
... hears it speak.
The one treating a horse with great understanding...
... hears it whisper.
The one treating a horse with no understanding...
... does not even hear it scream.
Looking at the back of a horse, it seems perfect for riding. It is ideally shaped for a saddle. The legs seem strong enough to carry extra weight too. Halter and snaffle fit well around the horses head. But the fact is that horses are neither born for the purpose of carrying extra weight nor have the genetic disposition to understand human commands.
In order to ride a horse it has to be specially trained first.
The path towards a loving relationship with the horse, which can grow into a wonderful friendship, can be challenging but be achieved if the rider is willing.
Wanting to understand the horse has to be more important than the aim to use it for our own purpose. During this process, not only the rider, but also the horse is tense. Very often tensions (as in other relationships) are caused by misunderstandings.
Muscle tension prevents harmonious motion sequence and disrupts the self healing processes of the body.

Did you know the most common causes for muscle tension in horses are:
Transport Accidents, long transport journeys, rough driving or badly suspended trailers can add to muscle tension
Horses relax tension naturally by bucking and rolling. If the horse is not given enough time to move freely it cannot do that.
The back of the horse changes, so a saddle which fitted well at one time is can now be uncomfortable. This is one of the most common causes for muscle tension.
If the rider suffers from muscle tension this can lead to the horse starting to have back problems: bad posture of the rider is one of the possible causes.
Wrong shoeing and negligent hoof care can limit the ability of the horse to move. As the musculature has to compensate tension and pain occurs.
Assistance at birth and difficult births interrupt the natural process. Therefore the birth can lead to muscle tension in the horse and foal.
Dressage horses, jumpers, gaited horses, draught or western all perform. Especially during the training for the different disciplines the horse goes through an unnatural process which causes tension.
These examples are happening in daily life. The horse may develop undesirable behaviour which make further training or general working with the horse a lot more difficult.
Pain will always cause a shift in posture. The motion sequence becomes unnatural and the body starts to compensate with tensing the muscles. This compensating causes the muscles to put pressure on yet more nerves which causes an irritation of the nerves / can lead to irritated nerves
